The City of Jena’s 2026 Rent Index is a simple rent index as defined in Section 558c of the German Civil Code (BGB). It can serve as a guide for determining the local comparative rent. It takes into account factors such as apartment size, year of construction, amenities, condition of the building, and location.

For buildings constructed in 1991 or earlier, fewer than 7 full stories; for buildings constructed in 1992 or later, fewer than 5 full stories
